MEET JANE HINTON
Born on May 1, 1919 in Canton, Massachusetts. Her mother, Ada (Hawes) Hinton, was a former teacher, and her father, William Augustus Hinton, the first African American to teach at Harvard Medical School and to write a medical textbook.
In 1949, JANE graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Pennsylvania. That same year, Alfreda Johnson Webb also gained her VMD from Tuskegee University. Together they were the first two African American women veterinarians in the nation!!!
FUN FACT: Our Lip Balms are oval shaped to fit in the 5th pocket of your jeans and never roll away. This makes them easier to find when you need them. 😉
